This year was a fabulous Christmas. We decided to make it simple, and thus we were really able to enjoy the joys of Christmas. Nya was very lucky to have the REAL Santa come to her school. Nya was such an obedient child when Santa entered. When all the other children got excited and had a hard time staying in their seats, Nya sat quietly with her arms folded showing Santa that she deserved to be on the "nice" list. When another child was being naughty, Nya would say, "that boy (or girl) is definitely on the naughty list."Nya helped put out all of the Christmas decorations and decorate the tree. She also put out a glass of milk and cookies for Santa. On Christmas morning, she stacked up all of her presents, daddy's presents and mommy's presents. She had 13 gifts, but mommy and daddy only had 2 each. She felt really sad, kept looking back and forth between stacks of gifts, and wasn't sure what to say. Finally she said, "It's okay mommy that you only have 2 presents. At least you got 2."
We had such an enjoyable time opening presents. Nya was so excited about Santa this year. The best surprise was a new mattress. She has wanted a mattress for her trundle bed for several months. Matt made a deal with her that if she would keep her room clean for 3 weeks, he would buy her a mattress. Nya worked very hard to keep her room clean and even gave away 3 big trash bags full of toys. Christmas Eve, Nya went to sleep in our bed. Christmas morning she woke up on her trundle bed on a new mattress. She came into our room so excited and told us she had a new mattress. Of course Matt and I did not believe her, so Matt said, "You must have been dreaming." Nya replied, "Yeah, I must have been dreaming." I asked Nya to check again and this time I would come with her. Sure enough there was a new mattress. Nya concluded that Santa must have put the mattress on the bed, placed her favorite blankets on the bed, and then carried Nya from mommy's bed to her bed. And, she could not believe that she didn't even wake up!

Nya is such an angel. I love how she said "It's o.k. that you and Daddy only have two presents. At least you got two" Ha, Ha, Ha. She cracks me up with her cuteness!
