First Day of First Grade

Nya was not looking forward to going to 1st grade. After having an awesome summer full of long days, lots of fun, no structure, riding bikes all day, having cousins stay at the house and going on a few trips including a fun filled trip to Hawaii, would you want to go to school? However, she did carefully select the clothes she wanted to wear and laid them out the night before everyday for the first 2 weeks. And she did go shopping for school supplies and a lunch box. And she woke up and got ready easily and quickly everyday. She was secretly excited for school. After a few weeks of being in school, Nya loves it. When she has homework, she does it right after school before she does anything else. She suddenly loves to read now. Life is great for a 1st grader! Nya also gets to learn French. She was skeptical at first, but really enjoys it now. She is proud because she knows 4 languages now: English, French, Spanish, and American Sign Language. By the way, knowing just a few words in a language apparently makes you proficient.
